Pin My File for iPhone & iPad

Your files,
without the search.

Pin My File keeps local copies of up to nine frequently used files. The first slot is free; a one-time purchase unlocks all nine.

01

Add a file

  1. Tap an empty slot.Locked slots open Full Access; slot 1 is always free.
  2. Choose a source.Select Files, Photo Library, Take a Photo, Scan Document, or Paste.
  3. Finish the system picker.Choose one file or image, take a photo, or scan one or more pages.
  4. Open the slot. The app shows a thumbnail when possible and uses Apple's Quick Look for supported formats.
A local copy

Pin My File copies the item into its own storage. Later changes to the original do not sync to the pinned copy.

02

Share from another app

  1. Open the item.Use Files, Photos, Mail, Safari, or another app with a Share button.
  2. Tap Share.Choose Pin My File in the app row. Use More if it is not visible yet.
  3. Choose a slot.An occupied slot asks before it is replaced.
  4. Continue in Pin My File. The app opens and shows the saved item immediately.

03

Choose a file to open automatically

  1. Open a filled slot. The file appears in the system preview.
  2. Tap the star. The selected file is also identified in the overview and for VoiceOver.
  3. Return to the app later. The starred file opens when Pin My File becomes active.
  4. Turn it off.Tap the star again or use the crossed-out star in the top bar.

04

Rename, replace, share, or delete

Tap the three-dot button in the upper-right corner of a filled slot. Renaming only changes the name shown in Pin My File. Replacing and deleting affect the local pinned copy; they do not change the original file.

Deleting is permanent

Deleting removes Pin My File's copy. If the item was created with the in-app camera or scanner and was not saved elsewhere, there may be no separate original.

05

Unlock all nine slots

Tap any locked slot to open Full Access. The displayed price comes directly from Apple. This is one non-consumable lifetime purchase, not a subscription.

  • Slot 1 remains free without a purchase.
  • Full Access unlocks slots 2–9 and lets any slot be the Auto-Open favorite.
  • Choose Restore Purchases if you previously bought Full Access with the same Apple Account.
  • If Family Sharing is enabled for the purchase, eligible family members can use Apple's normal sharing process.

Troubleshooting

The price cannot be loaded

Check your connection and App Store sign-in, then tap Try Loading Price Again. Apple's sandbox or App Store service can occasionally need a moment.

A cloud file cannot be added

Open it in Files first and wait until it has downloaded from iCloud or the other cloud provider, then try again.

A file cannot be previewed

Pin My File can still store and share formats Quick Look does not display. Try opening the shared file in its original app.

The share extension is missing

In the system Share menu, scroll the app row and choose More. Enable Pin My File, then try sharing again.

The purchase is not restored

Confirm the device uses the Apple Account that made the purchase. Open a locked slot and choose Restore Purchases. Contact us if access still does not appear.

A file is too large

Each file is limited to 512 MB and all pinned files together to 2 GB. Remove or replace another file, or choose a smaller version.
